The Donald sites is where the field work that formed part of the La Trobe PhD took place. The has access to saline ground water and can be irrigated via a travelling irrigator. The site was established in 2005 by bare rooted plants and irrigated over the first summer. The experimental area had two treatments, including different rates of fertilizer inputs, and different clipping frequencies. A summary of these reuslts can be found on the R&D page. A seocnd area was established in March 2006 into a wet discharge site with salt primed tube stock. This area has be very successful in establihsment and subsequent growth.
